the new SG

ASEAN has a new Secretary General, Surin Pitsuwan from Thailand.
He succeeds the previous SG, Ong Keng Yong from Singapore and his tenure starts from the new year 1st Jan 2008 up to 31 Des 2012.
In ASEAN it is a costum to have their SG rolled based on alphabetical order of the member countries name (after S is T so Thailand for sure). So sit back and relax, Indonesia still has a long queue to go ;-)
